PC 2021-0961 Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order – Prohibition of Entry into Canada from the United States

Subject to subsection (2), this Order comes into force at 00:01:00 EST on November 21, 2021. (2) Sections 10 and 11 of this Order come into force at 00:01:00 EST on January 15, 2022. Repealed by PC 2022-0041.

Overview:

In order to (1) support Canada’s continued focus on reducing the introduction and further spread of COVID-19 by decreasing the risk of importing cases from outside the country; (2) continue to prohibit entry of foreign nationals arriving from the United States, with some limited exceptions, and if they have reasonable grounds to suspect they have COVID-19, if they have signs and symptoms of COVID-19, or if they know they have COVID-19; (3) replace the prohibition of entry from optional or discretionary to prohibition of entry if not fully vaccinated, with certain exceptions; (4) remove the prohibition of entry for asylum claimants entering between ports of entry
