Overview:

Fast-tracked legislation in the House of Commons for an $82-billion emergency COVID-19 support package. $2000 Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) for workers who lose their income as a result of the coronavirus, and expanding eligibility for Employment Insurance. Canada Child Benefit payments were given a one-time increase of $300 per child, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) credit for the 2019 tax year was doubled and personal income tax deadlines for 2019 were extended.
