PC 2020-0588 Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order – Prohibition of Entry into Canada from any country other than the United States

This Order has effect for the period beginning at 23:59:59 p.m. EDT on the day on August 30, 2020 and ending at 23:59:59 p.m. EDT on September 30, 2020. Repealed by PC 2020-688.


This order is to (1) support Canada’s continued focus on reducing the introduction and further spread of COVID-19 by decreasing the risk of importing cases from outside the country; (2) continue to restrict entry into Canada of foreign nationals arriving from countries other than the United States, with some limited exemptions; (3) make non-substantive changes to provide additional clarity on provisions throughout the Order; and (4) extend the effective date of the previous Order to September 30, 2020.
